Kelly Stephens is a life long resident of Cleveland, TN. She began her radio career fresh out of high school in the summer of 1995 at WKXJ-FM 97.3 Kicks FM in South Pittsburg, TN. From there, she went to WDOD-FM 96.5 The Mountain in Chattanooga, TN in 1997. During this time, she also began working as a traffic reporter for various stations in and around the Chattanooga and Cleveland, TN areas from 1998-2001. From 1999-2001, she worked at WRXR-FM Rock 105.5 in Chattanooga and filled in part time on WLOV R&B Oldies and 98.1 Kiss FM in the same building. In 2001, she landed a full time position at WALV-FM Alive 95.3 in Cleveland. She was the midday jock on Alive 95 as well as the production director for the entire Brewer Broadcasting cluster in Cleveland. In 2004, her production skills won her a national ADDY award and Chattanooga Advertising award for best :60 second spot for small market radio.
In 2005, she was hired as the news director, production director and midday jock for Cat Country 93.9 FM. In 2006, she returned to 96.5 The Mountain working off air doing production and part time on air. In 2008, she hung up her radio career and began a full time position in print media as a managing editor and reporter for a local Cleveland newspaper until 2010 and remained a correspondent for news media until 2012.
In May 2013, Kelly became a mother to an amazing son named T.J. She was a stay at home mother for 4 years until her son began pre-school. In 2017, Kelly started a brand new career as a Child Nutrition Specialist (a.k.a. Lunch Lady) for Cleveland City Schools in order to keep the same schedule as her son.
After a 13 year radio hiatus, Kelly accepted the midday position on WALI-FM Alive 96.9 in November 2019. Kelly is a proud mother, she is a proud lunch lady and she is proud to be back on air in Cleveland, TN on Alive 96.9!
